Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge # 14

This week we are using a groovy sketch from Scrapbook Etc Sketches.

We are going to use one of the colour combo's from Stampin' Ups! colour coach for Bravo Burgundy, a colour I must say, I don't think I have ever used!!!.

The 'Creative Combo' is Bravo Burgundy, River Rock & Baja Breeze.

The 'Sweet Set' combination is Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard and Crumb Cake.

Good luck Rach and Adele!

Cheaper Than Therapy Submission # 13

Here is my submission for # 13. There was no sketch remember, but we had to follow certain guidelines. I initially had in mind photos from the zoo, but Rach had guessed I was doing my photos from our Fathers Day weekend at Muscle Car Masters @ Easter Creek, what a top idea! So, zoo photos have gone on the back-burner and this is what I came up with.
I choose Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobler & More Mustard and I love this combination. I also got to use Stampin' Ups new Stamp Set 'Need for Speed'. Here it is:
Be sure to Blog Hop over to Rach and Adele's websites and see what they came up with for this challenge.

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge # 13

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge Number 13 is an interpretation. It was my turn this week to come up with the challenge and I couldn't find a sketch I liked, so this is what I came up with.
Interpret this:
Make a double 12 x 12 layout and as a minimum:
Page 1 is to have a title, one 5" x 5" photo, 2 or more embellishments.
Page 2 is to have nine 3" x 3" squares (can be a mix of photos, dsp, cardstock, embellishments and although I'm sure that a square layout comes instantly to mind, this doesnt have to be the case).
Colours are using the Baja Breeze combo's from the Stampin' Up! Colour Coach.
The 'Creative Combo' is Baja, Cajun Craze & Basic Gray:

or  the 'Sweet Set' is Baja, More Mustard & Cherry Cobbler:
So the expectations of the layout are fairly simple, but yours can be as simple or as elaborate as you like. Can't wait to see how you interpret this Rach and Adele!

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge Submisson # 12

Here is a reminder of the layout for this weeks challenge, a layout and colour combination from The Colour Room.

This is my submission. I didn't have 3 photos as per the layout so I used 2. I don't think the photo of the layout does it justice, it's a bit glary! I used basic grey ink and roughly brayered over white cardstock, then distressed the edge. The grey and certainly celery paper have Smooth Spritz Silver Foil over them and I used green chunky glitter over the chipboard letters. Another page is done! Yippee.

How did you get on with this challenge Adele and Rach?

Cheaper Than Therapy # 12

Ive been a little slack this week getting this challenge up. My first Scrap Club meets tomorrow and I have had my head buried in bundles of paper, ink & stamps!

This week we are doing another Colour and Sketch combo from The Colour Room

These are just the most beautifully constructed palettes, very inspiring.

Here is a close-up of the sketch -

(I am hoping I can manipulate this one a little better than the last Colour Room sketch we had. Look! No flowers - that should make it easier! lol).
Feel free to join in. Good luck to my Challenge buddies Adele and Rach.
Time to take my scrap hat off and hit the tennis court. Its such a gorgeous Spring day out there!!

Stampin Up! Regionals 10th September 2011

I said in my last post I would put some photos up of our day out in Darling Harbour at the Stampin' Up Regionals training day.

Here we all are at the end of the day - look at our heads just spinning!!!

Left to Right: Me, Rach, Adele, Cath & Georgi.

Here is a photo of the 'Make & Take's' we did, using the new 'Under the Big Top' stamp set and 'Big Top Birthday' DSP. They are so cute!!! I have a photo of my son dressed up as a clown that I am planning on putting on the scrap layout.

I call this photo 'And let the laughter begin...'

And our day wasnt complete until we had visited the Lindt Chocolate Cafe! Oh boy!

Such a great day with some awesome friends. Thanks girls. xx

Cheaper Than Therapy Submission # 11

I have to start this blog by telling you about my Saturday! I went to my first Stampin' Up! Regionals in Sydney. What a great day! Along with my fellow Stampin' Up Demonstrators, Rachael, Adele & Georgina, we took our gorgeous friend Cath along as a guest - and it was all on the quiet. I think we had just as much fun (as did her hubby Michael) being Secret Squirrels planning the day.  It was such an inspiring day and I have so much in my head, I just don't know where to begin. I will post some photos soon of our day out, plus photos of the awesome 'Make & Take's' we did.

Back to the challenge... Just a reminder we were using retired papers and stamps that we hadnt had a chance to use just yet and I'm quite happy with this layout. I'm still undecided as to what I will use it for, but I'm sure just by changing the papers and embellishments to some of Stampin' Ups! current stock, this will make for a great workshop layout in the future. Maybe I'll ask Adele for her opinion. She is the QUEEN at changing papers on layouts and giving them a totally new theme.

Don't forget to check out Adele and Rachael's blogs and see what they came up with this week.

Cheaper Than Therapy # 11

This week we are doing another sketch challenge combined with the colours Really Rust, Creamy Caramel and Sage Shadow (all now retired).  We are also all using the same papers from the retired ‘Outlaw’ dsp pack and the retired stamp set Wanted......so I guess this week we are having an all round RETIRED PRODUCT Challenge.

The sketch we will use is another lovely one from the talented Becky Fleck – this is designed as an 8 ½ “ x 11” layout but can easily be adapted to 12”x12”.

Can’t wait to see how these layouts turn out Rach and Adele!

SCRAP CLUB

I am so excited! This is the first time I have tried my hand at a Scrap Club. I can't wait to share a great variety of Stampin' Up products with the girls over the next 5 meets.

Being our first week, I decided to start with a stamp set and layout that should suit everyone. The paper I have chosen is Just Eat Cake, coupled with the stamp set 'Party This Way' and co-ordinating papers. We will be splitting the stamp set between this meet and next meet, so that I can spend more money on cardstock and the girls can take lots of paper home to scrap from home.

Here is the layout we will be doing on our first meet, Thursday 15th September.  It will suit a boy or a girl, or even an adult birthday, it's quite a versatile layout.

The products have been ordered and now I just need to sit back and wait for that HUGE big brown box to arrive at my doorstep.

Cheaper Than Therapy # 10 Submission

Ok, so I don't do flowers. Whenever there is a layout with flowers, I change it to something boyish, like an arrow or a star, even a heart, so my personal challenge this week was to go 'flowery'. All it did was remind me why I 'DON'T do flowers'. I havent even titled this one, how bad is that. Oh well, what's on for next week? lol
Don't forget to check out Rachael and Adele's blogs.
